Wilderness Bisate is an award-winning eco-lodge set in an eroded volcanic cone adjacent to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Location

Located on the edge of Volcanoes National Park in northwestern Rwanda, Bisate Lodge is nestled in a natural amphitheater formed by eroded volcano cones. Surrounded by lush forest and within easy reach of gorilla trekking trails, the lodge offers direct access to some of the most iconic wildlife experiences in Africa. The site is approximately 2.5 hours by road from Kigali International Airport.

Rooms

The lodge features six luxurious forest villas that blend traditional Rwandan style with modern comforts. Each villa includes spacious bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, and a private deck offering sweeping views of the surrounding volcanic landscape. The rooms are uniquely decorated with local art and eco-conscious design elements.

Facilities and activities

Facilities include a central lounge and dining area with a fireplace, a wine cellar, a spa offering massages and wellness treatments, and a boutique store. Activities focus on gorilla trekking, golden monkey tracking, community visits, tree planting, guided nature walks, and cultural immersion experiences. The lodge also provides personalized service and expert guides for all excursions.

Food and drink

Main Dining Room — Farm-to-table cuisine. Meals are prepared using fresh local ingredients and served in a warm, communal setting with panoramic views of the volcanic landscape. Panoramic glass doors open to a private deck with sweeping views of the Bisoke, Karisimbi, and Mikeno volcanoes, creating an intimate and immersive experience in the forested landscape.
